Artist Statement
�
Art is my passion. I am a woman . I paint woman because I can identify with , and relate to them . My work is a projection of emotions ravaged by the brutal penetrations of life. Birth, puberty, abuse, pleasure, pain and death, we all experience them. Our lives are infused by emotions.
My strongest influences are my own experiences, my assumptions (because we do assume) and the media. �And I might be vigorously infatuated with the music of Tori Amos�. We are after all made aware of everybody else�s pain and miseries through different types of media.
My paintings represent the psychological consequences a girl or a woman suffers as a result of child abuse and molestation, beauty pageants (that in turn also attracts perverts and paedophiles which leads to child abuse and rape), child trafficking and children of war and divorce. I also explore more universal issues like puberty, gender roles, sexuality, cosmetic surgery and religion. I take a little of someone else�s pain and make it my own.
This collection is titled �ONLY WOMAN BLEED�, it contains a bit of satire and harsh reality. I openly give my opinion on the self-centred ideologies of our modern society.
