I am a painter/sketch artist
Vita / Lebenslauf:
I am a self-taught artist who has been drawing and painting since I was thirteen. My main interest is figurative art, primarily created as pencil drawings and oil paintings. My inspiration comes from life or photographs and I choose certain images that stand out in my mind to recreate. The basic ideas culminate toward a cohesive, thematic whole. I devote myself to learning new techniques so that I can always evolve as an artist. At the basis of my development is always a search for inspiration.
Art is a natural break away from everyday life. It is a motivation to persevere through many ordinary experiences of life and also allows for expression of feelings. It enables one freedom to think, daydream, and gives one a sense of control. It is wonderful to be able to communicate feelings in this way.

Painting since 1974. Self-taught in oil painting, drawing. Specialize in portraits of people/animals, city scenes (particularly New Orleans). Other media use includes color pencil pastels, acrylics, charcoal, pen & ink. Active member with the New Orleans Art Association, Slidell Art League
