Statement:
Edelstahl und Holz sind die Werkstoffe, die ich für mich entdecke und auslote. Mit Neugier und Faszination
kombiniere ich naturbelassenes oder teilbehandeltes Holz mit Motiven aus Edelstahl zu einzigartigen
„Kontrastwerken“. Die sich begegnenden Materialien bilden Schnittpunkte – Anfang und Ende treffen
sich – Gegensätze gehen ineinander über – im Sichtbaren wird Unsichtbares erkennbar – Natur geht eine
Verbindung mit Technik ein und Willkürliches trifft auf Stilisiertes. Jedes neue „Kontrastwerk“ ist für mich
eine Entdeckung der Widersprüche, denen ich mit ganzer künstlerischer Kraft Ausdruck verleihen möchte.

Entdecken und Entstehen
Handwerkliche Perfektion und Erfahrungen lassen „Leinwände” aus Edelstahl in gewünschter Größe
entstehen. Die dreidimensionale Grundplatte geht eine Verbindung mit dem getrockneten Holz ein. Das
hochwertige Massivholz (Robinie) lasse ich manchmal natürlich, verwittert und völlig unbehandelt wirken.
Seinen besonders sinnlichen Reiz erhält es aber durch die Bearbeitung. Ich schleife das Holz in vielen
Schritten, bis die Maserung des Holzes richtig hervor tritt und so wundervoll zur Geltung kommt. Die auf
oder in das Holz eingearbeiteten Objekte sind meist aus Edelstahl, in einigen wenigen Fällen aber auch
aus Mineralien wie Achaten oder Bergkristallen. Mit ihnen entstehen vielfältige Variationen, Adaptionen aus
Pflanzen- oder Tierwelt, logische Verbindungen oder Reflexionen der Fantasie. Bilder, auf denen es etwas
zu entdecken gibt und die ein Abenteuer für die Sinne sind.
