Statement:
Es sind zwei Dinge, die mich in der Kunst wirklich interessieren: Strukturen und Figuren.

Auf den ersten Blick etwas völlig Gegensätzliches - Punktwolken und Menschen. Für mich aber kein Widerspruch.

Schwärme von Fischen und Vögeln gleichen grafischen Punktstrukturen, die sich ständig bewegen, ihre Form ändern und irgendwie zusammen gehören. Etwas gibt den Marschbefehl und die Richtung vor. Und wir wissen: jeder Punkt ist ein Individuum, hat eine Figur, die in einer Punktwolke verschwunden ist.

Und der Mensch?

Ich sehe dich und dein Gesicht. Du lachst und trauerst, bist ganz du selbst. Bist Individuum und Unikat in dieser Welt. Und doch bist du ein Teil des Schwarms, der kommt und geht. Ein Punkt der Wolke. Teil einer Struktur ohne feste Form, die immer in Bewegung ist. Ziellose Bewegung?

Es ist das Gefühl des Punktes, das mich zum Schwarm, zur Wolke, zur Struktur teibt. Es ist das Interesse am Einzelnen, am Gesicht des Anderen, das mich immer wieder zur Figur zieht.

Struktur und Figur - zwei Seiten der gleichen Sache - der Sache des Lebens.
