Leila Benameur, Jahrgang 1977

Studium der Graphik und Malerei am Institut der Philipps Universität in Marburg. Einige Jahre Tätigkeit als Graphikerin in einer Werbeagentur. Erste Ausstellungen in Marburg und Umgebung in den Jahren 1998-2003.

Erste Einzelausstellung 01.04.2007 - Haus Meer in Meerbusch Büderich.

Die Arbeiten lassen sich alle als Collagen und Mixed media Kompositionen beschreiben. Hier kommen vom Textmarker bis zum Industrieeding auch zweckentfremdete Materialien und Werkzeuge zum Einsatz. Die Inspiration liegt für die Künstlerin buchstäblich auf der Strasse. Die Collagen auf Holzkörper, die mit einer eigens erfunden Drucktechnik realisiert werden, erinnern nicht selten an zerrissene Plakatwände und Litfasssäulen der Großstädte. Urbane Elemente tauchen immer wieder auf und auch Comic und Streetart bleiben in ihrer Wahrnehmung und Wirkung nicht umkommentiert.
