Bio / Resumee / Statement:
Kostas Koufogiorgos wurde 1972 in Arta, Griechenland geboren, studierte nach dem Abitur 1989 Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Universität von Athen und begann zeitgleich als Karikaturist für verschiedenen Zeitungen und Magazine zu arbeiten.

Bis heute hat Kostas Koufogiorgos für zahlreiche politische- und Wirtschaftszeitungen sowie für mehr als 20 Μagazine in Griechenland gearbeitet. Daneben hat er Bücher, Werbeanzeigen und Poster illustriert. 2004 ist ein eigener Band mit seinen Karikaturen (in griechischer Sprache) erschienen, im September 2008 wird das erste deutschsprachige Buch mit politischen Illustrationen erscheinen. In Deutschland veröffentlicht er u.a. in Tageszeitungen, Magazinen, Lehrmaterial und Internetplattformen.

Neben der Tätigkeit als Karikaturist spielt auch die Arbeit als Maler eine immer größere Rolle. Eine erste Einzelausstellung mit den zumeist abstrakten Öl- und Arylgemälden war 2007 in Korntal bei Stuttgart zu sehen. Eine Besonderheit der Arbeiten besteht in der Auswahl des Materials: Alle Farben werden mit hochwertigsten Pigmenten von Hand angerieben. Die Grundierungen werden ebenfalls klassisch aus Glutinleimen und Kreide angefertigt, die Leinen-Maltücher selbst aufgespannt.
