Statement:
Katherine Treffinger is an Eastern Oregon(USA) based artist. She is self-taught.
The roots of her artistic sensibilities were shaped in her early years in the San Francisco, California, Bay Area. Travel and studies of mystical traditions and psychological awareness have informed her years of attentive observations, both internal and external. Through her trained intuitive processes, Katherine creates forms and textures on canvas and paper with expressions of deeply honed feeling.

�When I stand before an empty canvas or piece of paper, I am lost, unaware of what to do, and, in fact, find that my most satisfying work comes out of staying �lost�. Navigational confidence is seldom productive for me. Each piece becomes a recording of a unique introspective exploration.�
