Statement:
Painting is a way for me to express what I am feeling while in the moment. It usually can be found in subtleties, color, composition, rarely bold and obvious.

Bio / Resumee / Statement:
I am originally from New Orleans Louisiana, but relocated with my wife and 3 teenagers to Rochester New York after surviving hurricane Katrina.
I am primarily a self taught artist. I tend to lean towards impressionism and tonalism. The tonal style was made popular by the Hudson Valley School of Art in the mid 1800's. I like the soft colors and hues. For the most part, I paint nature. My goal in most of my painting is to create a mood. I truly want the observer to feel the art. Sometimes that feeling is pleasant and sometimes it is sorrow. In nature, cloud cover, light, and color creates a mood which I try to capture in my paintings. It is like expressions on someone face, only more subtle.

Activities:
I own and operate an art gallery and frame shop called "Hanging Around Frame and Art" at 1276 Fairport Rd Fairport NY. Which takes most of my time. I paint and I occasionally fish.
