HENDRIKS ERKLÄRUNG ZUR KUNST 2009
Kunst ist eine Droge, liebe Leute, und das Erschaffen von Kunst, von Zeichnungen und Gemälden, Skulpturen und von digitaler oder Computer-Kunst ist meine ultimative Katharsis. Es ist meine Art der Reinigung und Säuberung meines Geistes. Es ist mein ........"Ritual der Reinigung". So entleere ich die Scheiße aus meinem Hirn ...... so bleibe ich gesund in dem ungesunden Ding, das man Realität nennt. Kunst ist wie eine Droge, von der ich herrlich abhängig bin. Ich bin so anhängig geworden, dass sich die Chemie meines Körpers verändert hat, sich an die Droge KUNST angepasst hat. Ohne diese Droge falle ich zurück, ich beginne zu verkümmern und sterbe. Ich werde dumm, doof und pathetisch. Meine Besonderheit ist weg. Ich fange an, mich in diese wertlose Sache zu verwandeln, die es nicht verdient zu leben. Anders gesagt, meine Kunst definiert mich; ohne sie und ohne das ständige Kreieren von Kunst bin ich nichts, weniger als nichts.
Mich als Künstler auszudrücken ist meine Art, den mentalen Schrott auszukotzen, der sich in meinem Bewusstsein und Unterbewusstsein anhäuft. Meine Arbeit hat ihre Quelle in meinem Unterbewusstsein. Ich weiß nicht wie sich meine Kunstobjekte darstellen, bevor sie anfangen das zu werden, was sie sind. Meine Arbeiten werden eher geboren als bewusst und mit Überlegung und Vorbereitung aus einer Idee heraus verwirklicht. Meine Arbeit entsteht spontan, wird nicht im voraus durchdacht. Gelegentlich gründet sich eine Arbeit auf eine Idee, aber der schöpferische Prozess wird immer seinen eigenen Weg gehen. Meine Hand und mein Arm sind das Instrument, das von der gerade entstehenden Idee gesteuert wird ... Die Kunst kontrolliert mich, ich kontrolliere sie nicht. Sie hat ihren eigenen Willen. Sie ist etwas, das sich selbst gebiert, das aus freiem Willen aus dem Gehirn strömt.
Erst wenn ich anfange zu erkennen, was geboren wird, übe ich eine gezielte Kontrolle aus und greife in seine Entstehung ein. Das ist der Moment, an dem ich mich auf meine Disziplin besinnen muss, weil die Gefahr besteht, dass mich die Arbeit langweilt. Sobald ich weiß, was es ist, finde ich die Ausführung der Arbeit weniger spannend. Die Überraschungen sind vorbei. Es geht dann darum, eine Aufgabe zu beenden. Das Ausführen der Bewegungen, die nötig sind, um das Kunstwerk zu beenden ist langweilig ... In dieser Phase kann es mir passieren, dass ich das Stück beiseitestelle um ein neues zu beginnen. Es ärgert mich, dass es so lange dauert, es zu vollenden und manchmal bringe ich es nicht zu Ende. Dank meiner Selbstdisziplin stelle ich jedoch die meisten meiner Kunstwerke fertig.
