Statement:
"The colors of the world come alive on my canvas, my brush serves as my instrument."
Bio / Resumee / Statement:
I was born and raised in the Alfama District of Lisbon, Portugal. Alfama is the heart and soul of the Portuguese people; I feel that I reflect this heart and soul through my paintings. I have also been greatly inspired by nature and the environment around me. I love using colors (of the world). I am basically a self-taught artist, with some formal art training in Lisbon, Portugal.
I have exhibited my artwork in the St. Augustine Art Association, and have won the "Pot 'O Gold" Award while there. I have also exhibited in several Art Galleries around St. Augustine. I was featured artist for the Month of November 2007 in the Abbott Tract Artist's Gallery, St. Augustine, Fl; The Gallery Artfest, on Duval St., Key West, Fl; The Lyssa Morgan Gallery, in Tampa Fl, and invited to participate in the "Ritmo Caliente" Latin Jazz & Art Show at the Casselberry City Hall, Casselberry, Fl (3/9 -4/27, 2007); and exhibited in the Casselberry Art House (from Nov. 1 - Nov. 30, 2007), for the 2008 Rotary Calendar Artists Show, my painting "The Vineyards" was chosen for this 2008 calendar (month of November), I was a participant in the 4th Annual Florida Artists Registry.com members show (Juried exihibit) at the Gallery in Avalon, Orlando, Fl. (Dec - Jan. 2008); I am presently exhibiting at the Casselberry City Hall, Casselberry, Fl, and was one of the featured artists in the Seminole County Magazine (Spring, 2009), and also exhibiting at the Quality Inn, in St. Augustine, Fl.
