Die Arbeit zeigt die Künstlerin, ihre Mutter, Großmutter und Urgroßmutter. Es handelt sich also um vier Generationen von Müttern und Töchtern. Vier Frauen, jeweils im Alter von 30 Jahren gemalt, stehen neben einander, nehmen Bezug zueinander, fügen sich zu einer Geschichte, sind eine Familie und dennoch ist jede eine unverwechselbare Individualistin.
